Clinical Supervision
Counselling Supervision
EMDR CONSULTANT
I am a qualified EMDR Europe Clinical Supervisor/Consultant. I work with EMDR counsellors and psychodynamic counsellors.
I was a psychodynamic psychotherapist before I became an EMDR Consultant and trying to understand how I might present one client in 15 minutes or use these new scales of SUDs and VOCs and write some notes in a session, was truly mind blowing to me. Years on I value the integration of both theories but I really like to work with supervisees to support this process (whatever your mix of modalities).
My experience to becoming and practising as an EMDR Europe Accredited Clinical Supervisor/Consultant has involved working in a multitude of areas.
- Working with the Emergency services, particularly the police and fire service.
- Private EMDR therapy with adult clients, for a diverse range of presenting issues (Attachment, anxiety and depression, PTSD for single incident trauma (such as a road traffic accident), complex PTSD for work related trauma, vicarious trauma, relationship issues, abuse, coercive control, anxiety, depression, OCD)
- Working in Occupational Health
- Attachment (trained in Attachment Informed EMDR)
- Bereavement/ Complex bereavement
Counselling Supervision
Individual EMDR Clinical Supervision
Individual supervision can offer you the opportunity to present client cases, reflect on personal challenges impacting your professional work and support your continuing professional development. When starting out as an EMDR Therapist clinical supervision can be particularly useful as, for some, it might feel confusing or uncertain how to embed this new way of practising alongside practising in other modalities. The more you increase your practical experience with EMDR clients, you will see how many transferable skills make this change easier to navigate, as well as leaning an array of new skills.
- I will ask you what your professional requirements are and can offer 60 minutes per month, 90 minutes per month or two 60 minutes per month, clinical supervision sessions.
- The supervisee is committed to attending the supervision that is arranged ( usually 10-11 months a year and I will give clear notice of my holidays).
- If the supervisee does not attend arranged sessions, the fee is still charged. There is no cancellation policy and the rationale for this is that it is important to ensure the boundaries of the clinical supervision so your clients are brought regularly, to ensure risk is given time and adherence from me as a clinical supervisor and you in relation to our ethical framework and professionalism.
- The fee is £100 per one hour session.
Counselling Supervision
Group EMDR Clinical Supervision
Group supervision offers you the opportunity to present client cases with others and learn from their presentations as well as your own. By seeing others present can offer extensive learning opportunities alongside presenting your own cases.
• I offer groups of 4 supervisees with a range of experiences ( as we all have a lot to offer, whatever our length of experience with EMDR).
• The group is for one hour and occurs monthly. Each supervisee is committed to attending the supervision that is arranged ( usually 10-11 months a year and I will give clear notice of my holidays).
• The supervisees are committing to attend every month and if the supervisee does not attend, the fee is still charged. There is no cancellation policy and the rationale for this is that it is important to ensure the boundaries of the group so you and the others develop the ability to get to know each other and feel supported with regular attendance.
• The fee is £90 per session for each supervisee.
